As you can see, we here at True Photography Weddings are big fans of color! We think that the perfect way to round out the year, and our Twelve Days of Color, is to feature all of the colors at once! So today, we’re shining the spotlight on rainbow colors at weddings.

If we could pass on advice to our brides and grooms, it would be this: embrace color! Whether you prefer the classic sophistication of silver, the natural serenity of green, or the bold statement of orange, there’s something for everyone. There’s a reason people say “_____ is the new black” when talking about the new popular or “in” thing. That’s because black is timeless and fashionable all year-round. When it comes to wedding attire, black is classy, no matter the season. Black is a strong color and can stand alone, or make any other color pop when used as an accent!

At weddings, black is associated with elegance, formality, and prestige. When paired with white, black is representative of a traditional, upscale, and classic affair. As an added benefit, black is a fabulous contrast to a white wedding gown!

Yellow is traditionally associated with joy, happiness, spontaneity, and energy. Since yellow is the color of sunshine, it is a popular theme color for summer and spring weddings! When couples incorporate the color yellow into their wedding scheme, it produces a warming effect, and creates a cheerfulness that we love to photograph.

Using bright yellow as an accent color can bring attention to your wedding details. As you can see in the images below, there are many ways to incorporate the color yellow into the big day. Some examples are yellow cupcakes, yellow flowers, yellow jewelry, and yellow bridesmaids dresses. As background color, yellow adds a nice highlight to wedding photos.

Nothing contrasts against yellow more than black, so we’re going to switch it up tomorrow with our next featured color – BLACK!

After a long holiday weekend, we decided to ease back into the week with the color blue. Strongly associated with tranquility, blue is often used to bring positive and soothing vibes on the wedding day! When offset by a white wedding dress, blue can be a radiant and vibrant accent color.

As opposed to emotionally warm colors like red, orange, and yellow, blue is linked to consciousness and intellect. While light blue is associated with health, healing, understanding, and softness, dark blue signifies knowledge, power, integrity, and sincerity.

As you’ll see in the wedding photos below, blue makes a stunning background color, and a fantastic addition to the wedding color scheme. We hope you enjoy the images. Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see our rundown on the color YELLOW!

We decided to follow our vivacious red color post with a cool, sophisticated color – silver! Whether it’s used as a theme color, or in details such as wedding accessories, sliver is a staple color of many weddings. When couples are going for a sleek or modern themed wedding, as in weddings we’ve photographed at the Ultimate Skybox and the Hard Rock Hotel, silver is the perfect counterpart!
