When Christina and Anthony came to us to photograph their engagement shoot, they knew they wanted to incorporate the beach and also have a little fun in the city. Because Encinitas has a good mix of beautiful beaches and an eclectic downtown area, we decided to drive up the coast!

We started at Moonlight Beach, where the happy couple popped open some champagne to let loose. Christina and Anthony seemed natural in front of the camera, just being silly and enjoying every minute of it. After the beach, we walked along the train tracks and headed up a few blocks from the water to Highway 101.

Next, we stopped in front of the unique Nixon headquarters building, which looks like a big brown barn. There, we met a laid-back couple coming from the Birkenstock store across the street, and they willingly acted as living props in our shoot. They were great sports!

Eventually, we made our way to Charlie’s Foreign Car shop for some neat photos with an old classic car. Then we made a final pit stop at Angelo’s Burgers, where Christina and Anthony’s goofy side came out as they drove an invisible car through the drive-thru!

We all had a blast, and captured so many unique scenes during this engagement shoot. We can’t wait for Christina and Anthony’s amazing wedding at The Grand Del Mar this September.  We hope you enjoy a few of our favorite finished images from our shoot!

I am very excited to announce our new affiliation with California State Parks!  Our studio has been hand-picked as the preferred San Diego wedding photographer for the finest local beach wedding spots. We are the only photography company pre-approved to shoot San Diego coastal weddings with California State Parks. We’re very excited to be working with California State Parks, and for the benefits this brings to our bridal couples.

For example, it is now even easier to book True Photography Weddings as your beach wedding photographer. Our permit will always remain on file with California State Parks, so we are ready to shoot at any time without going through the approval process. This is great news for couples that envision a quaint seaside ceremony, a breathtaking celebration overlooking the Pacific Ocean, or a large tented soiree on the sand.

The beaches in San Diego offer a unique and gorgeous natural backdrop for weddings year-round. Beach weddings can be large or intimate, and give you the freedom to set up the space in any way you choose! We’ve seen all kinds of San Diego beach weddings: large, small, romantic, whimsical, over the top, and casual.

Anggia and Andi are an amazingly sweet couple from Indonesia. The two of them brought along several outfits for their engagement photo shoot – four outfits, to be exact!  It was a lot of fun because they really got into the different scenes, which included roaming through a rural field, a casual day on an urban street, a picnic in the park, and a stroll on the beach – all photographed within Solana Beach!

The shoot was centered around the couple posing with a variety of props, some of which they brought, and others that we found along the way. These elements added an extra touch to their photos that helped to bring out their personalities. Check out some of the images from Anggia and Andi’s shoot below. We’ll make sure to share their upcoming November wedding on our blog for you to see!

When we first spoke with this sweet couple, they wanted to make sure to take photos at the beach during sunset. Before heading to the beach, we had a fun time photographing Katie and Matt relaxing in a field of daisies, and posing in front of an old shed. We also got a few great photos of them behind windows with neat lighting!

We made it to the beach just before sunset, and captured Katie and Matt’s playful and romantic sides. As you can see in the photos below, Katie and Matt weren’t the only ones exchanging kisses. Their 3-year old Beagle named Elle made sure to get in on the action!

Katie and Matt are looking forward to their August wedding in Napa Valley, and we can’t wait to photograph it!
