1940’s Inspired Engagement | Emily and Rafael

By, November 28, 2017

Emily and Rafael are originally from San Diego, but currently live in North Carolina. Since Rafael is a commercial pilot, the couple flew to San Diego for a special engagement session. The shoot was held in Air Group One’s Hangar and WWII Museum in El Cajon, CA.

Emily and Rafael’s 1940’s attire, hair, and makeup made the photos feel like a step back in time. Also, the suitcases (pictured below) were gifted to Emily’s grandmother on her own wedding day… 60 years ago! Check out the amazing photos from this fun and glamorous engagement photo shoot :)

Balboa Park Engagement Shoot | Lauren and Ryan (and Charlie the Puppy)

By, August 05, 2014

Lauren and Ryan met while hard at work at a local biotechnology company. During one of the monthly all-company lunches, Lauren overheard Ryan talking about his brand new Vizsla puppy. Lauren, a fan of the little-known breed, immediately turned around and asked for details. Ryan, of course, was eager to share. A few weeks later, Lauren received a picture of “Charlie” in her inbox. The rest was history!

Both San Diego natives, Lauren and Ryan both grew up visiting Balboa Park as children. They each remember trying to catch “the ring” from the carousel, and were captivated by the overall beauty of the park. They decided to have their engagement shoot at the iconic San Diego landmark, and fondly chose the carousel as their starting destination. During the shoot, we made our way through many of the park’s picturesque locations (archways, flower fields, grassy lawns), for a variety of different moods and backgrounds.

When taking photos with Charlie, Charlie ended up giving Lauren a HUGE wet kiss – oops! Looks like he approves :) Enjoy the highlights below.

First Dance | Spotlight

By, June 11, 2014

The first dance is an institution at weddings, and a classic tradition shared between the wedding couple. Often, the song selection is a subject of intense debate, because it involves eliminating beloved tunes until that one perfect song remains. When those first notes play, the couple can finally spend a moment enjoying the limelight, and have an adoring moment together.

There are all different songs and music types that have ‘struck a chord’ with our wedding couples. Sometimes the first dance is understated and graceful, and other times there are boogie shoes involved. Whether it’s a romantic waltz or a choreographed medley, we’re there to capture the emotion from an assortment of viewpoints. Here’s our tribute to first dances with this collection of recent photos. Please enjoy!
