Julia and David held an intimate beachside wedding at The Marine Room in La Jolla. It was my pleasure to do makeup for Julia and her beautiful mother on Julia’s wedding day.

Julia is naturally gorgeous, and she has a positive light that shines from within. I wanted to keep her looking like herself, and to bring out her glow!

I made sure Julia’s brows looked symmetrical, and evened out her skin tone while keeping the eyeshadow soft and neutral.

I lined Julia’s lips with a nude lip pencil, and filled in the lip with a rose colored lipstick and gloss.

I also highlighted the high planes of her face with some of my favorite products, and brought some lotion to accentuate her athletic arms.

I brought the sexy factor up with a clean (waterproof) black line on Julia’s upper lash line. Natural false lashes made sure David would be swept away by Julia’s gaze all night.

Along with their guests, Julia and David enjoyed a gorgeous evening, which included incredible cuisine and genuine love.

Julia and David look so happy in all of their photos. I am honored to have been a part of their awesome day!

Beach Wedding Hair & Makeup by Brittany Gharring

For the past 12 years, I have been a hair stylist and makeup artist for brides and their wedding parties. It’s an honor to be the one who gets the bridal party all glammed up and beautiful.

Recently, I was hired to be on location for Sonya and Jeff’s beach wedding ceremony and reception at the Scripps Seaside Forum.

One of the most important aspects of getting the bride and her ladies ready is being efficient with time! Typically, we spend 40 minutes max on each maid’s hair and makeup, leaving as much time as we need for our bride.

I always include lashes, whether they are full, individual or just the corners. The corner lashes are key! I love when the mother of the bride gets falsies because they make a world of a difference in the photos!

Prior to the wedding day, we layered Sonya’s hair so her curls would have lift and lots of body, and would last longer. We loved how it turned out!

We chose a hairstyle that would complement Sonya’s dress, and not compete with its fullness. We decided on romantic curls and waves, which flowed with the back of her gorgeous gown.

Getting the bridesmaids ready is such a fun and exciting part of the wedding day. We start by prepping each maid with a set of hot rollers and curls, and then apply their makeup with an airbrush or by hand. Then, we add the perfect finishing touches!

We went for a fresh and romantic look for the bridesmaids, with hairstyles ranging from down and flowy to pulled back. Because it was a beach wedding, I stayed through the reception, to make sure the bride and bridesmaids stayed fresh in the warm beach weather.

Sonya looked beautiful throughout the day and night! It was a gorgeous celebration all around!
